Sign reads "Pedestrians, attention, lights are out of sync." (I.e., you have to go through two signals to get across the street, and they are not simultaneous.) I remember seeing this sign often when I was first in France; the word for "out of sync" (or "shifted") is the same one used to describe changing the clocks for daylight savings. This trip the ones I saw usually said, instead, "Pedestrians, cross in 2 times."
